Bella Umbrella is comprised of four divisions, four uniquely different aspects of the umbrella business with four unique flavors and purposes.
Our Vintage Bella Umbrella collection started it all off back in 2002. It is now the largest source for renting one of kind vintage umbrellas that were primarily made in the 1930-1960’s. Everyone from brides to prop masters from TV and film to fashion photographers and event planners have enjoyed adding our vintage umbrellas to their artistic design vision. You can rent anywhere from 1 umbrella to 500 umbrellas and the rental period is generally 5 days. We have a separate website for these located here - www.vintagebellaumbrella.com
Next we created the Signature Bella Umbrella Pagoda. We started producing our own umbrella designs that included all of the features we loved most about some of the vintage umbrella styles. Such as the ultra feminine shape of the pagoda which actually lends itself to being one of the strongest wind umbrellas that we offer. This umbrella also has interchangeable handles to give our customers the opportunity to customize the look and color combination of their umbrella.
Soon we needed a storefront and that’s when we opened Bella Umbrella Seattle. It’s now located on 1st and Pine in downtown Seattle at the Pike Place Market. Here you can come and open (yes, I said open) an umbrella inside and get a good feel for the quality of the umbrellas we offer. Our staff is knowledgeable about all aspects of umbrellas such as which models are windproof or sun protective and also which ones have manufacturer's warranties. We stand behind all of the umbrellas that we sell – Guaranteed!
When it was time to grow we knew it was time to open Bella Umbrella New Orleans. The Big Easy was the perfect town for our style of umbrellas. Nestled on one of the most interesting retail shopping streets in America named Magazine Street we offer a smaller selection of umbrellas than the Seattle store but we needed that space because this is where we hand sew our Custom Signature Bella Pagoda umbrellas as well as create our custom made Second Line umbrellas. It was reported that approximately 2800 Second line parade permits were issued for weddings in 2015. Here is a link on how to have a Second line parade in New Orleans - http://www.nola.com/living/index.ssf/2016/09/how_to_have_a_second-line_or_p.html
With all that said we still have much to do and create but our number one priority is to sustain a dying craft and to honor our umbrella loving customers.
